Tempers flared in the Premier League after Everton’s dominant 3–0 victory over Chelsea at Goodison Park, but the biggest moment of the night came after the final whistle when Everton manager David Moyes launched a brutal response to comments made by Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior.
Everton secured an emphatic win in front of their home supporters, with Beto scoring twice in the 33rd and 62nd minutes before Iliman Ndiaye sealed the result with a third goal in the 76th minute. However, instead of focusing on Everton’s performance, Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior stirred controversy during his post-match interview by blaming the home crowd for influencing the outcome of the match. “Respectfully, that’s a pathetic excuse,” he continued. “If that’s the level of analysis we’re getting, then he will undoubtedly go down as one of the most pathetic managers the Premier League has ever seen.”
The Everton boss instead praised his own players for a professional performance that overwhelmed Chelsea from start to finish.
“We worked hard, we were clinical, and the supporters pushed the team forward,” Moyes added. “That’s football. When you come to this stadium you have to deal with the atmosphere.”
Rosenior has yet to respond to Moyes’ comments, but the exchange has already ignited debate across social media, with fans and pundits split over whether Chelsea’s manager crossed the line with his post-match explanation.
