On Monday, No. 5 seed Alabama and No. 4 seed Maryland had a game for the ages.
Not to be dramatic, but the second-round March Madness matchup between the Crimson Tide and the Terrapins was easily the best game of the women’s NCAA tournament thus far. Maryland was down 17 points in the third quarter and came roaring back. With two minutes left in regulation, Alabama was up by 4 when Maryland continued pushing, eventually tying the game at 80 all. Alabama senior Sarah Ashlee Barker, who had a sensational 45-point day, launched a gutsy 3-pointer, putting the Tide up ― only to have the Terps answer right back, pushing the game into the first overtime.
