LeBron James continues to add to his historic legacy, now ranking second in all-time NBA games played. During the Lakers’ 112–97 win over the Dallas Mavericks, James logged his 1,561st career regular-season game, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
At 40 years old, James is now just 50 games shy of Robert Parish’s all-time record of 1,611. His journey includes 849 games with Cleveland, 294 with Miami, and 418 with the Lakers. This milestone adds to an already record-breaking career that includes the most points and minutes played in NBA history.
Earlier this season, LeBron entered the top five in games played and has shown remarkable consistency, playing in at least 55 games in each of the last four seasons. If he maintains this pace, he could potentially take over the top spot as early as next season — his 23rd in the league.
James is also closing in on another record: he needs just three more three-pointers to overtake Reggie Miller (2,560) for sixth place on the all-time list. With two games left and a playoff berth secured, it remains to be seen how much more he’ll play before postseason action begins.
