The Los Angeles Rams appear to keep putting up the idea that Matthew Stafford may be on the trade block. The first report indicated the front office set Stafford’s trade value at a first-round pick.

Now, a new development from NFL insider Ian Rapoport has stated that the Rams are granting other teams permission to gauge the trade value of Stafford. It is not a trade request, but rather a way that the team can gauge what sort of contract the veteran signal-caller should be awarded.

3. New York Giants

Matthew Stafford spent most of his time in cold climate games due to spending the majority of his career with the Detroit Lions. This is why a return to the NFC would make a ton of sense.

The New York Giants are in desperate need of a franchise quarterback, and Stafford could immediately fill that gap. Even though he is 37 years old and presumably in the twilight years of his career, he would become the perfect option for the Giants.

The Giants may have given up Saquon Barkley, but they have a stud receiver in Malik Nabers. Stafford had a similar receiver in Cooper Kupp to throw to, so the connection between Nabers and Stafford would be dynamite.

2. Las Vegas Raiders

Normally, the Las Vegas Raiders would be the best option on this list, but they might not have the draft capital to get Stafford and ensure they have enough to fill their other big roster holes. However, if the Raiders view Stafford as their biggest missing piece and offered something more lucrative than just the rumored needed first-round pick, the Rams might not be able to say no.

The Raiders, much like the Giants, need a quarterback. Stafford would immediately elevate the offensive prowess of the team and could combine with perennial tight end Brock Bowers to create a dynamic pass-catching duo.

1. New York Jets

There is already a rumor set in place that the Rams would trade Stafford to the Giants, and then go sign Aaron Rodgers. Regardless if that happened in that manner, the Jets would be a fantastic team for Stafford to end up with.

The Jets already have Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams. If they got Stafford in the mix, that offense would be something to behold. Granted, Rodgers has a similar style, but Stafford is a bit more gritty.

Stafford needs somewhere where he can go win immediately, or at least in whatever time he has left on the field. The Jets could be a team not far from competing once they get a franchise quarterback.
