What Donald Trump said about Nick Saban, Kalen DeBoer and state of Alabama football

Shortly after taking the stage at Coleman Coliseum on May 1, President Donald Trump talked Alabama football.

After being introduced by former Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban, Trump began his remarks at the University of Alabama’s special commencement ceremony by asking students to remember where they were when Saban retired.

And Trump egged on the Alabama crowd when it came to its former football coach.

“Nick (Saban), what a great coach. Let’s bring him back,” Trump said. “No, you have a good coach right now, though. You have a good coach right now.”

Trump added that Alabama is not only “a great football school,” but “now one of the nation’s best basketball schools.”
